Redhawk Justice is a social justice club at St. Athanasius School. Students from grades 5 - 8 are welcome to participate. The club meets 1-2 times a month throughout the school year during the lunch hour. The year covers 2 - 3 topic areas and follows a model of learn, serve, and reflect. The learning sessions allow students to gather an overview about the topic area (last year we explored homelessness, immigration, and hunger). We then arrange a service project that includes opportunities for other family members to join. After the service project, we spend time reflecting on our observations and experience. Our goal is for students to have new experiences and make deeper connections to their community and each other while understanding their own role in addressing injustice in our community.
SCOUTS
St. Athanasius offers both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Students in grades Kindergarten - 5th grade can sign up for our troop that includes kids from St. A's and other local schools. Meetings take place at St. A's, and a calendar of activities include service, outdoor learning and exploration, and team building.
