What is Development Council
The St. Athanasius Development Committee (DC) is a parent run, volunteer organization tasked with raising funds to offset the gap between the school’s tuition and the actual cost of educating a student. All funds raised by DC go to the school and ensure that St. Athanasius can continue to provide their students with a quality education. Money raised by DC is critical to operating our school and maintaining our high standards.
For the 2024-2025 school year, the Development Committee has a fundraising goal of $230,000. This is raised through our annual fund, Angel Night, Progressive Dinner with Buy-In Parties, Run n' Walk, and Irish Fest.
EVENTS
ANGEL NIGHT
This event is traditionally planned and executed by the 7th grade class. This annual event is the main adult-only fundraiser of the year. It's a semi-formal event with dinner and dancing. It also includes a silent auction, raffle, and paddle raise. All funds raised go to support the school’s development council goal.
ANNUAL FUND
The Annual Fund is our main fundraising effort focused on bridging the gap between tuition and the cost to educate a student at St. Athanasius School. Communication is sent to families throughout the year encouraging participation at any level.
IRISH FEST
This event is traditionally planned and executed by the 3rd grade class. This annual event is a school favorite. It’s an Irish celebration filled with Irish food and drink, Irish music, and Irish dancers, fun kid activities, and more. This is a fun night for the community to come together!
PROGRESSIVE DINNER
Progressive Dinner is an annual event kicking off the school year. This is a parents only event that starts with a cocktail hour at St. Athanasius where buy-in parties can be purchased. Then families move to assigned houses for dinner and then end the night at a dessert party. Dinner hosts and buy in parties are coordinated.
RUN N WALK
This is the main fundraising event for the kids. The students participate in a kick off pep rally to start the fundraising week. A company called Boosterthon offers an online portal for students to collect and track their progress. The event day includes a run-n-walk on the school property. All grades participate and enjoy a run and fun.
SWEETHEART DANCE
This annual event is a daddy-daughter dance (although girls can bring any adult). It's held in the school gym and includes a fun night of dancing, activities, and more.
