STUDENT LIFE

Student life at St. A's is vibrant, faith-filled, and focused on fostering both academic excellence and personal growth. Through a supportive community, students engage in meaningful learning experiences, extracurricular activities, and service opportunities that inspire them to live out their faith and make a positive impact in the world. Together, we cultivate a nurturing environment where lifelong friendships, spiritual development, and a love of learning flourish.

Here is a snapshot of the programs St. A's offers to enhance the student experience.

SERVICE

Commitment to our holistic mission introduces students to service and instills a strong sense of community and awareness for those in need. Projects vary annually based on student interests and current events.

BUDDIES & FAMILIES

At St. Athanasius, we believe in the power of community and the importance of building meaningful relationships. Our Buddies Program pairs middle school students with younger peers. Together, they participate in engaging activities, service projects, and fun events that foster mentorship.

Our "Family" Program creates multi-grade groups that work together on collaborative projects, community service, and initiatives that inspire school pride. This program promotes teamwork and leadership but also deepens connections across all grade levels.

ENRICHMENT & FIELD TRIPS

At St. Athanasius, our yearly grade level field trips encourage students to lead, expand their interests, and have memorable experiences. Each grade gets to enjoy a field trip annually to enhance learning.

SPAIN & FRANCE TRIP

On alternating years, 7th and 8th graders are invited on a trip to France and Spain to experience French and Spanish culture & adventure. This incredible experience allows our students the opportunity to use language skills, explore new cultures, and experience the world.

8TH GRADE EXPERIENCE

When our students and families enter their capstone year at St. Athanasius, a variety of beloved traditions await them. Lovingly hosted and planned for by parents of the graduating class, eighth graders get to experience a variety of events to celebrate camaraderie and the enduring friendships made. These include dances, class activities, a service project, graduation events and more!

LIVING OUR FAITH

Within an environment that cultivates responsibility and kindness, we challenge students to participate in parish life and commit to the ideals of peace, justice and respect for others. The religion curriculum (K-8) emphasizes Catholic scripture; tradition; prayer; participation in weekly liturgy and sacraments; and introduces students to other cultures’ religious ceremonies and traditions. Students attend weekly mass at the St. Athanasius campus of St. John Henry Newman Parish.
